They Don't Act a Thing Like Jesus

(But they talk like gentlemen...)

Ok, so I am taking my liberty with this Killer's song, the original words being: "he doesn't look a thing like Jesus, but he talks like a gentleman..." The premise of this song, I believe, is about a girl who grows up in the church with Jesus held up as the perfect husband, and then along comes this man who steals her heart with promises but after they are married he turns into an ass. Typical plot line, but using the idea of Jesus as an ideal man for women to look for is intriguing. Especially since The Killers come from the morman mecca of Salt Lake City.

So my job hunt continues. I am feeling incredibly....perhaps the word is dumbfounded. I have a great resume. I write good cover letters. I do decent interviews. I am articulate. I answer questions of relevance well. I am well educated. Yet here I am almost two months of continous job searching, but still unemployed. I can't even get a job at freaking PetCo. And instead of outright rejections by the organizations that I have interviewed at, they are, for lack of a better word, dicking me around. No-one will give me an answer outright, just blur their words, extend decision time-lines and NEVER EVEN BOTHER TO CALL MY REFERENCES, but yet say they are/have. I don't understand. I am becoming tempted to say it's outright discrimination, but then there is no proof. But these people that I have interviewed with are for the most part individually and on the surface great (gentlemanly, gentlewomanly you might say) but collectively and in time, completely unjesuslike.
